advice for new and young lifter

Hey guys I am 21 years old and am a very new lifter. I got into it while in college cause the dude i am dating likes guys with muscles (peer pressure got me lol). I'm currently 6'2" and 168 pounds so i am super lean. what kind of workout program do you think would work for me and that i can do at my university gym which has everything (even pools).

I would go with HIT training with muscle contractions and slow training no fast pushing or exploding lifts.
 
new lifting i would stick to the big compound lifts for the first couple years. don't do things like curls for example. the big lifts only
 
Best thing you can do is learn to eat for gaining mass. Any training is going to work. What I would focus on though is learning the compound movements. Make sure you master the form before going too heavy.
