does beer target the belly ?

I have an observation as a guy who works in the restaurant industry, the guys who come in and order beer (gals too) all have beer guts but have skinny arms and legs. so it seems that beer belly is a real thing, but is there any scientific reason why they tend to store it in their stomachs and not other places?

It probably makes ferment and get fatter in the gut.

the beer sold at bars/restaurants are just processed hops mixed with the worst water and alcohol that is fermented a bit. i've never understood what is so special about that concoction. i really believe it is years of marketing with chicks in bikini's all having a good time that makes people think this is somehow something worthy of drinking. of course drinking alcohol with processed hops would cause you to gain fat.

just remember that yeast from beer expands in the stomach... you will notice a beer gut isnt generally flabby etc. its just kind of a bowling bowl type thing where its just hard and expanded...

The conversion to sugar. The same thing happens to people who drink regular sodas.

I cant say I've noticed any difference between them and any other average American thats out of shape

I do love a good beer but im not chugging 12 at a time. It is all about moderation.
