first time fasting

I'm new to fasting but have been listening to the evo podcast and reading books on it (I read steve's book and Jason Fung). before i start i wanted to see what your opinions are on a good first time fast. How long should I try it for? I don't think I have ever gone a day without eating so I am scared, any final tips are appreciated.

First fast go 24 hours water no food. Start there before you go longer.
 
i would definitely talk to steve about intermittent fasting, etc... he has a lot of experience with it and someone you can count on to help you.. rickrock also has a great deal of experience with it.. these two guys are two you can trust to help you in the proper way and two guys i respect a lot!
 
go dinner to dinner. so if you eat 7pm today, fast till 7pm tomorrow

if you feel hunger remember that isn't really hunger. that is likely an electrolyte imbalance. so a trick i do is add some salt and cream of tartar to your water and drink, you can also get pure high quality liquid magnesium. those electrolytes will help balance things out. just push through. stay away from habits that make you want to eat like watching tv

do that a few times this week and then go for a 36 hour fast.
 
I'm not a fan of prolonged fasts for anyone that looks to enhance their physique.. I did intermittent fasting for a few years with great success before it ever was popular. That was 16 hkur fasts with an 8 hour feed window each day. There is a balance. You dont want to go too short or you won't get the benefits or too long because your performance and physique will suffer
