have a hard time fasting due to insulin resistance?

If i have a hard time not eating for more than 4 or 5 hours does mean I am insulin resistant? if so how can i get tested for it to confirm this? I've spent years eating every 2 hours as that is what my personal trainer recommended. my health has declined during this time and i want to get things turned around.

Hard time fasting is usually personal choice, you can fast if you try harder and forget the insulin resistance.
 
you can get your blood glucose and a1c but it sounds like you figured it out already that yes you are insulin resistant. if you cannot go 5 hours without food that is a tell tale sign

and the fact your idiot trainer got your body this way is horrible.

the goods is this is reversible. it will be UNCOMFORTABLE at first but over time the switch will go off. some people need 2 weeks and some need months. you can speed up this process by doing more longer fasts instead of just doing intermittent fasting. 1 long good fast 10 days would reverse this on the spot. intermittent fasting daily can take months to reverse it so it is a matter of if you want to fix this or not.
 
No it has more to do with just learning to adapt to not eating every 2 to 3 hours. Your body just has to get used to it if thats what you want to do
