how much protein do we need?

i am confused about how much protein we need, some guy told me on another forum to get out cause i said i only eat 300g of protein a day. I am 155 pounds so i am getting 2X my body weight. i am eating every meat you can imagine and taking in tons of protein powders. all that is happening is i am on the toilet 8X a day.
 
well, the truth is there is no set number. people who consume that much protein a day will have to keep eating more and more of it over time because their body are unable to absorb nutrition from their food. that is why every bodybuilder in their 40's has gut health issues and deficiencies

if your body is super efficient like mine is you "NEED" 0-150g a day which is what i get depending on the day. yes some days i get none, some days i might get 150. today i would estimate i got somewhere over 100g, i had some beef and steak

now besides me being a smartass answering your question the recent studies on this matter have showed that weight trainers need .6g per day of protein per pound. so a 200 pound guy should shoot for 120g a day but like i said there is no minimum. if you eat under that your muscles aren't going to dissapear that is just bro science. that is it. you don't need 300g of protein a day, that person who told you that is an imbecile.

Half that plus a little to get to the size you want (so 155+5 for 160 for example)
 
If you are running to the toilet multiple times per day then you should stop those protein powders right away. Clearly your body does not like them. Try getting all your protein in from clean whole food sources. At 155lbs, getting 300g of protein in is definitely not necessary. Don't hyperfocus on how much you are getting in but rather the quality of the proteins you are eating.
