    what type of sleep do we need to recover?

    I'm not asking how much sleep necessarily, but i am asking what type of sleep do we need? like i know i need 8 hours of sleep to boost my gains and recovery from a workout, but i rarely can go a solid 8 hours. do we really need to be in a deep REM sleep for that full 8 hours or can i do like 6...
