harder glutes and thighs

I've been training for 20 years and am seeking to get my glutes and thighs much harder, they are soft right now especially as I've gotten into my 50's. I've already done the usual squats, lunges and i keep my stances wide. is this just part of the aging process or is there anything else I am missing?

You're likely not doing legs right even squats dont fix everything. Try slower squats and more squeeze with yoga.

Thats going to be more related to losing bodyfat than anything
