Many say they have it, but many don't really know what it is. It's an obsessive fixation on perceived flaws in your physical appearance.
You avoid checking your weight, you avoid looking at yourself with your shirt off. You find yourself comparing your physique to the physique of others. You hate your body, you wish you could change it, and even with hard work you don't see the subtle changes because you're so negative towards yourself. The persistent negative self talk and obsessive focus can trigger sever anxiety, depression and a surprisingly high rate of suicide ideation.
95% of this is me, I don't compare myself to others because I understand we all have different genetic makeups. I do however feel like I look like shit, and I need to improve in all areas, I feel like nothing I do is good enough and I can't seem to fully transform the way I want.
I do understand that it takes time, and this is what we call delayed gratification...
I just wanted to speak out and say for those who really do suffer from this disorder, Please don't be afraid to reach out and talk to someone if you feel you're going down a certain path that's a bit challenging to come back from.
