help with deadlifting

Newbie
they just put in a deadlift platform at my gym. I’ve noticed when it comes to deadlifting, a lot of different opinions on the proper stance.
some people like the conventional option and some people like the sumo
What do you recommend that I do as someone who is generally new to weight training?
 
i'm not a fan of deadlifts to be honest. I think that doing box squats makes more sense, especially if you're new.
 
I would go with conventional. Make sure you keep your hands straight. And make sure you keep your spine straight.
 
Keeping your chin up is very important. Too many people lower their chin and that puts pressure on your neck.
