getting my son into weight training

my son is 21 years old and he isn't into weight training at all but he's into other sports
I would like to get him into weight training cuz he's really skinny plus he wants to join the military in the future. He's asked me for some help so I got him a gym membership but other than that we don't really know anything about weight training. Can you give me some pointers I can show
 
he needs to learn the basics of proper form

start with the biggest 10 lifts in the gym and go from there. have him stay away from iso lifts for a couple years
 
make him do natural push ups, sit ups, squats etc no weights
 
I would start with the basics of a good clean diet. Add in some weight training in the form of a 5x5 routine. That will help him get the right form for the all important compound lifts.
