hip and glute thrusts


I've been increasing the lifts on my hip and glute thrusts from 80 pounds up to 150 pounds and i do 4 sets of 12. i've put on an inch on my glutes in the past year. one thing i notice is that my muscles get sore only when i take time off from doing them and then come back. should i start using an elastic band around my thighs?
