alcohol okay in moderation?

I used to be an alcoholic really bad when i was younger, never got help for it, drank myself away for years before my wife helped me overcome it by divorcing me. was the best thing she could have done. now I just drink socially, i will have a few beers a couple nights a week and maybe hard liquor on the weekend. how bad is this for me?

I think alcohol is not alright. Stay away from drinking.
 
if your dieting alcohol will get in the way. If your trying to put on muscle alcohol will get in the way. If your trying to save money alcohol will get in the way. Only thing its good for is making new friends.
 
I drink beer all the time I just don't overdo it and I definitely don't drink on a heavy cycle. Everything in moderation
 
It is completely up to you and how much of a priority your health and physique is. No one here is going to tell you (especially an alcoholic) that drinking is ok. I stopped drinking beer because of the bloat but whiskey has become a hobby for me. That being said, I have a drink or two per week. And I sip it over hours. I am sitting around 12% body fat right now and consider myself healthy. If I was on a cycle I would not be drinking at all though.
