Approved Log Long cutting cycle Journal

This is my first attempt at a log, so hopefully this is good enough. This long cutting cycle started May 15 and running thru Dec 13. I started cutting earlier this year in March at a 500 calorie deficit and have progressed to 1000 deficit keeping my protein high.

Testosterone Cypionate – 600 mg/week

Growth Hormone (GH) – 4 IU/day, fasted AM increasing to 6 IU on Dec 13

Retatrutide – 5 mg/week (split into 2x weekly injections, running through November/December, pause planned)

500 mcg cag once weekly

Nebivolol – 2.5–5 mg daily (usually evening, helps with HR, calmness, and BP)

Telmisartan – nightly (BP support, also metabolic benefit)

Metformin – 500 mg twice daily (AM + PM, insulin sensitivity)

Berberine – 500 mg twice daily (usually with meals, synergizes with metformin)

Leucine + HMB – Leucine split pre/post meals; HMB ~3 g/day (muscle retention)

T3 (Liothyronine) – 50 mcg daily (split dosing recommended, AM + mid-day)

Winstrol – 50 mg daily (tabs ordered, running 50 days straight once they arrive from a second naps order)

Lifting at 0500 6 days a week, sun-Fri, training BJJ hard 3 days a week for cardio, 2 of those are open mats, minimum 1 hour of 6 minute live matches with 60 seconds max rest in between.

Keeping reps in the 10-15 range but to failure each set. Boot is holding up well. Body scans look good , slow a steady bf decrease and a slight lean mass increase.

I started the Reta on June 15, the GH on July 17z. And I’ll start the last 7 weeks on 50mg winny when it shows up from naps. I’m attaching a photo showing progress from may 15- Aug 15.

Lmk what else I need for an approved log

The cut setup looks structured with smart use of GH, retatrutide

Once the Winstrol starts, your joints will be dry, how much omega 3s you taking?

Training frequency and BJJ volume are excellent for conditioning so keep updating us we need to see training more

and i dont see food, can you start sharing macros and food you eat, pics?

Awesome that you decided to start a log — that’s a really good move.


I see you’ve got a long cutting plan, starting with a 500-calorie deficit and now up to 1000. What’s your goal? Do you still have a lot of body fat to lose?


From experience, I’ve done quite a few cuts, and I actually got better results when I took breaks sometimes — like 3 months of cutting, then 1 month at maintenance, and then another 3 months of cutting. Staying in a deficit too long can slow down your metabolism, and maintenance phases really help to reset it.


I also had a question about your cycle — you’re running 600 mg of test all the way from May to December? You don’t do shorter runs, like 12 weeks on, back to TRT, then another 12-week cycle?


A little tip on GH too — I’m currently at 6 IU per day as well, and I split it into two doses: 3 IU fasted in the morning and 3 IU post-workout.


Would you be able to share your diet and macros too?

No, I do follow a blast cruise a process with the test, 12 weeks on 600, 8 weeks on 300. 300 is actually my legit prescribed trt dose.

Goals, not 100%. It was to break the over 50 open powerlifting world bench press record at 275, now I’m kinda kicking the tires at trying it at 198. I’ve pause pressed 635 (in an f8 shirt) at about 250 body weight, but not sure at this weight. Not going heavy on this cut. Plus I need a new shirt now that I’m not a fat fuck. Lol

My wife is my workout partner and she’s considering a physique show next year, so I am kinda trying to get close enough for that to be a possibility with her. I’m hoping to get as lean as possible by Dec, then while I should be super primed to grow, jump into a test, mast, tren cycle (which is in my cart already I’d they fix this mess lol) , followed by another Reta cut after an week Reta break. The plan is to cruise at 4iu year round except for the occasional bump for a cycle. I feel great on GH

So long story about me, I lost over 2 years of training in late 2022. I had an old back injury that just kept getting worse. I finally got to the point where I couldn’t work out and after a long fight with my insurance company, got my c 5/6 and 6/7 replaced with metal discs. It’s not fused so I retained most mobility. But that was a huge setback. No excuses though

I’m also a BJJ blackbelt who has been training 28 years this year. I’ve taken a silver and bronze at the pan am games several years ago, and in 2022 before surgery, I was :08 for the medal stage at the IBJJf world championships and got swept to miss the medal stage. I’m hungry to fix that and I’m eyeing up the no-go IBJJF world championships Dec 11-14.

As far as weight cutting, that’s one thing I’m good at having been a wrestler or BJJ competitor my whole life since 4 years old. I’m 52 now. One trick I was taught 30 some years ago to avoid the weight loss plateaus and metabolism shut down is I check my temp every am. Now I run hot normally anyway 98.8 or 9, so if I slip below 98.5 my next meal I increase calories by about 50% consisting mostly of quality carbs. If I dip below 98.1 I do the next full day at 50% more calories again mostly good carbs. If possible I use sweet potato topped with Greek yogurt and franks red hot. Lol

But I will say, I am NOT some know it all and am always looking for advice. I’m very “coach able “ and always wanting to learn something new, so fire away please.

On the Reta and GH, I tried to be real smart about it and look at the receptors I was hitting.

Reta hits GLP, GIP and GCG on its own. The GH is hitting synergistically by hitting IGF-1. And the cag is my 5th receptor activated hitting the amylin receptor, which really shuts off food noise. So a “quint agonist” if that’s a thing? It’s been amazing effective to me. I’ve also studied Reta extensively before jumping on. Digging into the trial data, while the average was 24% weight loss in 48 weeks, it was average of 17% at the 24 week mark. So it’s 59% less effective after 24 weeks. I’m on my second 24 week cycle with it after a 6 week break in between last time. I was able to lower my dose in between. This time I’m going to try an 8 week break and return to my 1mg starting dose to see if that’ll be effective again. But cycling it is absolutely the answer unless it’s doubling as diabetic control for you IMO

@balancenomad husk will increase fiber. a lot of guys swear by it. of course on the other end of the spectrum fiber can be a negative if you don't need it or if you have ibs or crohns

Thanks for all the info, man — you sound like a hell of an athlete with both BJJ and powerlifting competitions, that’s impressive! 💪

Really interesting tip about checking your temperature every morning to monitor metabolic slowdown — thanks for sharing that. I think I’ll give it a try on my next cut.

I already track HRV, blood pressure, and resting heart rate daily, but adding temperature could definitely improve my data.



Anyway, I hope you’ll keep logging your progress here like the rest of us — this is definitely a log I’ll enjoy following! 🔥

If you are prone to stomach discomfort after a meal, you might want to look into digestive enzymes. It really helps and keeps you regular. You'll be able to have healthy bowel movements that can make a big difference in your training and your sleep. @balancenomad
