i follow time restricted eating myself. it would work well for you as masonic described above. i never count what i am eating but i also cycle my foods the way we naturally should. remember you aren't a pro bodybuilder here, so why follow what they do?
i would recommend a book by Jason Fung on fasting which will open your eyes to a lot of things on the way our bodies work also i have a fasting log on evolutionary.org which i layout some really good science based facts on it
