Do we need bcaa’s?

Do we need to be using bcaa’s if we weight train regularly? I was having this debate with a friend of mine who was saying he read a study that if we don’t get enough of them in our diet we won’t grow muscle. Does this mean we need to supplement them for best results or are they a waste of money?
 
I don't use BCAAs daily I prefer protein powders personally, better use the real protein vs the building blocks.
 
you get way way way way too much of them in the typical american diet. supplementing more is silly, would be like supplementing canola oil into your diet or HFCS or sugar. makes absolutely zero sense and does more harm than good

agreed on everything. I would say it is just a pure waste of money that could be used on groceries
 
Proteins ... helps building blocks of body tissue and can also serve as a fuel source ... take protein from your diet ..
meats, Poultry, fish, dairy products , eggs
