help with pushing split

Newbie
Looking for advice with a pushing split that I plan on doing. I’m in my late 20s. I still have sort of a bird chest. I would like to get it wider.
Do you have any advice on different exercises I should be doing on my pushing day? A friend of mine said I should stick to compound lifts, but then another guy said no, I should do isolation so I’m extremely confused.
 
i've got a lot of love for declines and flat bench. also dips are good. don't forget some triceps too
 
Overhead rope extensions are really good for building strong triceps. Also, why not do some push ups to finish your workout? You can always put some weight on your back.
 
A general rule of thumb is you can start with compound lifts and then as the workout goes on you can move to isolation. That would be a good option.
