mobster guru weight training tips/tricks

I was reading an article by an online guru in a magazine and he mentioned about working smarter instead of harder to achiever the best results. He then talks about that you shouldn't waste reps and to squeeze out every single one so you get the most muscle stimulation. what are some other tricks/tips you can share?
 
I would wait for mobster but training hard and slow is the right thing for bodybuilding and muscle stim no matter what anyone says.
 
I coach for all kinds. So for muscle yes. I'll give you an example (you can test this very easily):

Bench press. Try wide, medium and narrow grips. Same weight, same reps, different feel. Flat bench, decline and incline (same variations). Now you KNOW, first hand, that they can and do feel differently. So Arthur Jones (of Nautilus fame) said a slight incline was best (10 degrees - like a plate under the end of a flat bench).

Now the trick: take whatever grip you like on a barbell for the bench - as you lower the bar try gently pulling your hands apart. Not enough that they move but enough that you feel the rear delt being hit. Do that for a few reps. It shows how bad form takes a LOT of the stress off the pecs.

Now try it the other way. Lower and raise the bar at a steady speed (not silly slow nor silly fast) and PULL the hands together. The WHOLE FKIN REP you should feel the pecs activated. It's the same as if you 'squeezed' throughout.

I coached a local through a chest workout on Sunday and Monday I got 'my chest is in bits'. Took 1 hour. We used flat bench (as above), resistance bands, dumbbell flyes and press-ups
 
if you ask everyone in the gym the point of weight training you will get 100 different answers. some people just go there to get out of the house, some just want to show off, some want to get stronger, some want to relieve stress, i can keep going.

the bottom line truth is most people don't have the genetics to excel at it, but that doesn't mean they can't do it and enjoy a hobby
 
The only tips I really have are to master your form and learn to feel the muscle contracting. Those will help you perform the exercise properly and develop the mind muscle connection.
 
As has already been stated, there are a myriad ways to train. Experiment and find out which methods work best for you.
