DASH diet plan for me

I have been weight training for the past 25 years I’m a big guy I’m 265 pounds and very strong in the weight room.
Recently I got a scan done and I have some heart issues going on including a heart murmur. Doctor said that I need to get my blood sugar lower to reduce my chance of getting a stroke.
Wanted to run the DASH diet as it seems to be the consensus for this purpose. Do you think it’s possible to weight train on this sort of diet because it’s mostly fruits and vegetables and not as much meat.

you can train on it but you need more protein
you going to need to do pea protein etc
 
healthiest people in the world eat mostly fruits and vegetables so what's the problem
 
I think you'll be fine on that sort of diet you got to lose weight my man
 
at this point your main prerogative is health
 
it's called being a vegetarian and a lot of the world does it we're talking billions of people
 
a lot of people do vegan diets and are successful in bodybuilding
