im told 20min some say 1 hour
whats the optimal time?
I mean a full shake like 40 grams protein etc

What matters more is your preworkout meal. High protein and whatever your macros allow ~2hours or less before workout. Chicken etc will hold you over till the post workout shake. If you eat right it wont matter if its 5 minutes or an hour. Obv if you eat 10 mins before workout your workout will suffer.
