Fish oil choices

Is it true that fish oil should come in capsules which have liquid inside or is it okay to take tablets of them?
there are a few that are available at my health food store I wanted to kind of get your advice on
the first is nature Bounty fish oil which is 1200 mg per pill
then there is one called Carlson Laboratories finest fish oil which comes in liquid form
is there going to be a difference between the two and which one would be more effective? I'm trying to help my joints
